Speed round!
Ok so we’ve been busy, and I’ve been lazy. Here’s a speed round of stuff from your present / our past (cause we live in the future now).
- We drove north.
- We had the best fruit, ever. Boysenberries. Their season is apparently a week, this week. My only previous experience with boysenberry was in yogurt form. Fresh was far superior. Earwigs like them too. #bugnoise
- Cambridge has a horse walk of fame, of course. Trotting down Mane Street and back in a horseshoe-like pattern with our salt-lick-like gelato kept our throats from going hoarse. But that’s enough horsing around.
- We saw bad local live music at a hostel / bar. It was bad. I set up Home Alone style traps to ward off burglars. We “slept” on what seemed like one large spring. Miranda refused to touch anything there with bare skin.
- We went kayaking in a clear kayak and saw a fish, maybe two. Maybe.
- We went to an extravaganza and bought something for our home. #Unusual
- We went further north to a place Miranda can’t seem to name correctly. Was it Lake of Islands? Or Bay of Lakes..?
- We swam in coca-cola, it was warm because the water is darker and stores more sunlight.
- We also jumped waves at the most perfect beach, ever. No doubts (Doubtless Bay).
- We had world famous fish and chips.
- We saw more waterfalls.
- We met nice people.
- We drove on more very curvy “roads”.
- We went to a subtropical forest, it was loud.
- We got Jandals.
- We got a flat tire. I replaced my first flat tire. Our car was very dirty. I got dirty.
- We drove south to many vacant shops, shady towns, and closed forests.
- We saw one amazing lookout too many. Miranda shed a single tear. #EnoughAlready #TooMuchBeauty
- We met Miranda’s parents for the day. We hopped on and off. I was shamed for ordering a fancy beverage.
- I threw out my well traveled Bangers hat, I had a moment of silence. Bangers Forever.
- We finally left Auckland. I shed a single tear.
- Miranda got confused between Magellan and Gandalf. Sigh.
There, you’re all caught up! Fewf. Next stop, Wellington (where we will hopefully see a Kiwi!)
Until next time.
